In 2007, after the sudden death of Billy Kelly, founder of The Big Big Country festival, The Fallen Angels Club launched the Glasgow Americana festival.

Glasgow Americana has grown year on year – the Hall Of Fame reads like a Who’s Who of the best Americana music around: Sturgill Simpson, Steve Forbert, Tom Russell, Bruce Cockburn, Slaid Cleaves Jason & The Scorchers, the legendary Kinky Friedman, Mary Gauthier, The Wailin’ Jennys, Sam Baker, Crooked Still, Robbie Fulks, The Hotclub Of Cowtown, The Handsome Family, Tift Merritt, and the late great Jimmy LaFave have all played the festival.

Scottish favourites such as Jill Jackson, Blue Rose Code Roddy Hart, Kirsten Adamson, Adriana Spina, Elaine Lennon, Yvonne Lyon, Martha L Healy plus loads more have all features in our festival over the years.
